It's a full float axle so the gear lube also lubricates the rear wheel bearings. It's from a 1975 w200 so I don't know if it has a limited slip differential or needs a modifier but could be wrong? If a cold place then want a lighter oil below 90. If a lot of heavy and hot towing, then a heavier oil. It is just like motor oil. Hotter, go heavier. This is also the capacity posted in the Geno's Garage tech section. The owner's manual also states to only fill to a level "3/4 inch below" fill plug hole.Can't seem to find an exact spec .
